Recycling
Responsible recycling is a value we hold dear. If your a customer and you have old or broken hardware you no longer want we will bring it to a company to responcibly recycle it for you so it dosn't end up in a landfill.
We will send all recycled computers to Free Geek. Free Geek is a non-profit which takes old computers and harvests them for usable hardware. They will build computers out of that old hardware and put free open source software on it to run. These computers are distributed to the community by giving them to non-profits, schools, and people who can't afford a computer. The Minnesota chapter of Free Geek is still in its early developments and currently does not have anywhere to work on computers or store them, hopefuly in short time they will be up and running.
OceanTech is a responsible recycling company which Free Geek Minnesota has a deal with where all the unusable computer hardware will go. We will drop off old CRT monitors to them directly. These fine folks also offer free computer recycling to residents which we highly recomend people doing if they are not our customer.
